Judges will do their best to fit everyone into a category if there are any questions. Everyone is allowed in.

No group category. There is one trophy per category. You may enter as a group, but it is up to your group to decide who takes home the trophy.

Prizes and trophy names are subject to change at any time. But there will be something to win, for sure.

Please keep group entries to characters that are seen together. Collaboration groups, such as Fortnite characters with Arcane characters as seen in game are allowed. Just show the judges where they are seen together.

COMPETITION RULES

1. One entry per person. No separate entries from the same person. All entries must have purchased a ticket to the convention.

3. All costumes must come from an established cartoon, comic book, anime, video game, manga, webtoon, novel, or movie. Exception is the OC category. Book characters without a visual reference of some kind will also be put in the OC category due to no reference photo being possible.

4. All contestants must fill out the entry form 60 min prior to the start of the contest. (3:00 pm)

5. All costumes must be PG. No nudity or risqué costumes. Make sure the beach wear areas are covered. No costume is no costume.

6. No bad behavior. You know what that means. No trash talking, sabotage, or poor sportsmanship. Improper behavior will get you removed from the competition and possibly the convention. Remember, we’re all here to have fun.

7. Costumes and props must adhere to the convention and hotel policies. No harmful or dangerous weapons, no offensive or obscene costumes. Nothing with projectiles, explosives, flames, smoke, loose glitter, etc, are allowed. What comes with you on stage should leave with you. Do no harm, and use your best judgment. The judges reserve the right to disqualify any entrant for any reason.

8. Competition will lean significantly more towards craftsmanship, as in how well and how much of your costume you made. Cleanliness of work and percentage made are weighed in. Performance and being in character on stage are also weighed in lightly. Remember, contests are always about who brings their best on the day of the show. Don't be afraid to try, you may be the best in your category that day!

9. Please bring a reference photo and possibly a few progress photos of the changes you've done. The more build progress, the better. Build books that showcase full builds are encouraged. Questions will also be asked in addition to asking for any progress photos. Do enter even if you don't have any. Judges will do their best to ask questions on detail work.

9. Please bring the craftsman to the con if you're competing with something someone else made. Such as if your mom or your friend made your outfit. You may enter as model and craftsman. Both model and craftsman will walk the stage to both get their credit in the cosplay work. The model will be the one to be "in character" if performance is included in the entry.

10. Safety is first, as crafting can involve items such as hot glue and paint. In which youth may need adult assistance with. But youth will be expected to an extent to do some work on their own costume. Do remember performance is weighed in on a lighter note. Please let judges know how much the parent completed and the youth has completed. Youth is 15 and under. If concerned, ask judges. It's always best to be honest. We can move a youth model and parent craftsman up to the adult categories, per judges' discretion.

11. Please do not reuse a costume that has already won at this convention or one within the convention chain. If you didn't win at all, you may re-enter it. You may do the same character again, but in an entirely different costume. An example would be a character with a summer outfit versus a winter skin with a reindeer theme. The judges may not find out, but your fellow cosplayers will.

DETAILS:

Contest is at 4:00pm.

Roll Call will be 20-30 min before, and all contestants need to be in the staging area at that time for line up. More details will be given when you sign up.

Contest Registration will take place at the show. At registration you will give your name, stage/cosplay name, your costume/fandom, the category you are entering and anything else you think we need to know about your cosplay. This is where prejudging happens. We will cap the contest at around 150 entrants, so make sure you sign up early!

When it is your turn, strut your stuff and show off your cosplay. Please limit your time to 1-3 poses depending on time given, so everyone has ample time to shine.

Judges will announce winners once all cosplayers show their stuff on stage.

Do your best performance in your limited time that you pose. You may also be asked to say a few words and your character name, so use that chance to show yourself in character!

You do not have to be in character walking around at the convention. Save it for the stage, unless you really just want to be in character all day. The point of cosplay is to have fun.

Note: There is no skit category at this time. Judges decisions are final.

If you do not want to have your costume weapons inspected or tagged, or if you are not willing to comply with these policies, please do not bring your costume weapon.

Thank you for joining, and remember to make friends and enjoy yourself!
